Oh, the drama doesn’t stop off-screen! Malavika Mohanan, who recently appeared alongside Prabhas in the fantasy-horror comedy ‘The Raja Saab’, found herself in the middle of a social media storm; this time, not for her acting, but for her stunts.
When the movie hit theaters, Malavika’s action sequences drew applause from fans and critics alike. But soon, a single photo changed the conversation entirely.

A picture of her stunt-double surfaced online, and before you could say “cut,” netizens were accusing Malavika of faking her stunts. Social media exploded with debates: Was she really the one pulling off those daring moves?
Malavika Mohanan breaks her silence
Instead of ignoring the chatter, Malavika took to X (formerly Twitter) and set the record straight with a heartfelt post and behind-the-scenes videos.
“Been seeing a lot of tweets and articles about how I claimed to do my own stunts for ‘The Raja Saab’ but a body double did it as there’s a photo circulating online of a stunt artist who was my stunt double on the film,” she wrote.
She explained that her love for action is genuine. “Firstly, I do action because I really enjoy doing action. I’ve been a sporty girl since a young age and I enjoy physically challenging my body and learning new things,” Malavika added.
Why the stunt-double was there
Then came the explanation every troll needed: even actors who do their own stunts have doubles on set.
Malavika revealed, “Secondly, there’s always a stunt double on sets even when the actors are doing their own stunts, as the action director gets them to do the rehearsals of the shot. Or in certain shots, when they feel it’s too risky for the actor, it’s better for a professional to execute it so nothing goes wrong.”
She also gave a shoutout to her stunt-double: “Here’s some BTS of me doing some fun shots & a big hug to my stunt double who taught me how to execute them right.”
